Inge de Jonge & Jan Willem Schipper

Since 6 years now, we live with our family in a  little village on the border of the Cevennes National Park, not far from Barjac.
Inge designes clothing and home decoration and has her own fashion label. She runs a little shop near by the house were she also sells her handmade home decor made out of recycled materials.

Besides renovating their "Magnanerie" , Jan Willem does the communication for the clothinglabel, collects brocante (antiques and collectables), and has a decorating business.

Our house, on the border of Provence and the Cevennes, lies just between the two lively villages Les Vans and Barjac.

Next to the magnanerie we are planning to create a independant holiday home. The project is to create a comfortable family gîte with ecological features as sunpanels and a system for re using water.

Jan Willem is an outdoor enthusiast and knows the area very well. He is happy to assist you during your stay and can provide you with lots of good ideas for day trips, activities, local equipment hire options and even directions to the special secret spots the tourist office will never reveal. See the web pages ‘Area’,’Activities’ and ‘Barjac’ for more information.

Our home in St Paul le Jeune, the Magnanerie, used to be an independent family run business where silk worms were cultivated, grapes were grown and animals were reared.

From the old workshop within the Magnanerie, Inge, runs her own fashion label Inge de Jonge. Here she designs all her own collections and every so often she has in house and her little shop , shows and sales. After being abandoned for 40 years, we have breathed new life in to this glorious silk farm and industry, creativity and beauty returns to this wonderful building.
